Marble is a metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals. It is commonly used for sculpture and building materials. The characteristic swirls and veins of many colored marble varieties are usually due to various mineral impurities clay, silt, iron oxides and sand which were originally present as grains or layers in the limestone. It is much brighter and less expensive hence ideal for large scale finishes.
